Galaxy Nail Tutorial!

Hey everyone! Today was my first attempt at galaxy nails! I was quite scared that it would be really hard but I was completely wrong! These nails are (surprisingly) very easy! Please enjoy this tutorial and if you try it I would love you to send me a picture on my Facebook page!

What You Will Need:
-A base/top coat (optional)
-White nail polish
-Finley milled glitter polish
-Black polish
-Pink nail polish
-Light blue polish
-Light purple polish
-Dark/middle blue polish
-A makeup sponge
-Tweezers
-Something with a sharp end such
as a safety pin or toothpick

Step 1:
Paint your nails your nails with a base coat (optional) and then apply 2 coats of black polish or until the colour is solid.

Step 2:
Put a few drops of white polish onto a surface. Rip off a small piece of sponge and with tweezers dip it in the white polish.

Sponge the white on different parts of your nail to create a "nebula".

Step 3:
Do the same with the light blue and apply it over the white. Don't cover the white completely as you want some of it to show through. (Sorry the lighting in the second picture is very bright.)

Step 4:
Do the same with the purple, and ad a little bit of pink in the 'corners' of the nebula. I also applies some light patches of purple on some of the black. Then apply some of the dark blue on the edge of the white so the white blends into the black better.

Step 5:
With a pin/toothpick/safety pin (I used a safety pin although I think that was the hard way) dip it in some white polish and put little dots on the side of the 'nebula' On each nail I also drew little cross like shapes to look like twinkling stars.

Step 6:
Apply a coat of the glitter polish, finnish with a top coat, and you are done!
(The glitter didn't really show up in this picture ):

I really hope you all enjoyed this really fun and cute nail tutorial! It didn't take me that long and I am really happy with the results. Don't forget that if you try it out to post a picture to my Facebook page! http://www.facebook.com/Luckybeauty07

Mini Haul: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Polish

So I have seen the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear nail polish in my local "drug stores" and I have never thought of picking any up... until today! I was looking at the Sally Hansen stand in Priceline and thought I must try them. I bought 4 colours and will review and swatch them for you. :)

These are the polishes I got, I will go through them individually in a minute, but firstly I wanted to review the price/quality etc.

Price: $6.95 each
Amount: 11.8ml (OPI is 15ml)
Claims: To last up to 7 days
Drying Time: Very quick!
Quality: Very good

Colour 370: Blackout

Colour 83: First Blush

Colour 320: Fuchsia Power

Colour 300: White On

In each of these photos I have applied 2 coats of polish. I am very happy with them. They dry quickly, have lots of shine and seem like they would last a long time. The pigmentation is also very good. (Except in the colour First Blush but I think that is meant to be like that, I will be using it for french manicures although I think you could build the pigmentation up by applying more coats.) I really am impressed with these polishes and will definitely be buying more!

My New Facebook Page!

Guess who is now on Facebook?!?! Haha :)

I have my own personal Facebook account but now I have one for Luckybeauty07! It is only about 15 minutes old so not many posts up, but I can assure you it will keep you up to date on all my new blog posts. I will upload lots of photos too!

Here it is:

Kapow! Accent Nail Tutorial

In this post I am going to show you how to do a very simple accent nail tutorial. I got the inspiration from pictures like the one below. I just thought it was adorable :)

What You Will Need

You don't need anything special for this tutorial, everything is things that you would already have around your home.

-Sticky tape (any kind)
-Scissors
-A base/top coat (optional
-Black nail polish
-Yellow nail polish (you can use any
colour but this one works the best
-(My nails were already painted blue when I did
this, so any colour as the base.

Step 1:

Cut a piece of tap into a triangle. Stick this on your nail as shown. (Because I used clear tape I had to edit the photo and outline the tape so you could see it)

Step 2:

Repeat this step by placing the other 2 pieces of tape next to each other so the points are separated. I have shown this in the bottom picture using paper so you can see. (You couldn't see clearly when I was using clear tape!) Once that is done, paint over with black nail polish.
Peel the tape off and it should look something like the nail in the bottom picture. You must peel the tape off before the polish dries.

Step 3:
*You must wait until the black polish is COMPLETELY DRY or else it will peel off when putting more tape on top of it*

Place another 3 pieces of tape (just like the ones in step 1 and 2) over the black polish as shown below. Place the point of the tape over the blue point.

Step 4:

Paint over the tape with the yellow nail polish. Before it dries peel the tape off!

Your nail should now look something like this!  A gorgeous accent and slightly cartoonish design! I also did a more simple straight design on the other hand :)

I hope you enjoyed this fun nail tutorial! It is very easy to do and looks great!

So invite your friends and keep checking back because as soon as I reach 100 I will hold the giveaway, yay!

ALSO if you invite someone to join my blog and they do join, if they type in the comments on any of my posts and say that you were the one that brought you to the site, you will have a bit of an advantage when the giveaway is held.

I am not saying now what the prizes will be but they will be (makeup) products I love.

So yes stay tuned, invite your friends, and check back to see when I have reached my goal!!

My Current Empties!

I have been saving up all my "empties" (used up products) for a while now. Once I finnish a product I throw it in my "empties basket". This morning I felt my empties basket was full enough to do a post. I wanted to share with you all how I got on, which products I like and didn't like and which products I will be repurchasing.

So these are all the products, 13 in total. I thought it was enough to make a post but not too many that I might bore you :P

Skin Care
I will quickly ad, I have also run out of my Bioré Warming Anti-Blackhead Cream cleanser, but I stupidly threw it out. I had repurchased that product I think twice and love it.

Simple Makeup Removing Wipes
The first product I have used up is my make up removing wipes. I have been through so many different brands and these so far have been my favourite. They are just very natural, no dyes, fragrance etc. They are also very 'wet' and remove makeup with ease! I already have repurchased these as they are now a holy grail product for me.

Bioré Release Steam Activated Cleanser
The next item in skin care is this Bioré face wash. I originally got this because my mum though it looked cool as it says it works with the heat of your shower to open your pores for a deep clean. I do really like this product, it has a cooling sensation and is very nice (I love all Bioré products). I don't think I will repurchase it however as I don't really need it.

Hair Care

Schwarzkopf Deep Nutrition Instant Hair Treatment
The first hair care product is a leave in one. I use this product on my damp hair after I have washed it. I find it has really helped my damaged hair and prevents me from getting even more split ends. It does however sometimes leave my hair with this weird texture which isn't very nice. I think I will look around for some other hair products like this one and if I don't find any that take my fancy I will purchase this one again.

This product is the Dove heat defence spray. This was my second bottle. I LOVE THIS STUFF! I personally love the smell and it sprays on nicely. I feel it really helps my hair. I would really like to try other heat defence sprays so I might try some others first but if not I will repurchase this one....again.

Makeup

Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation
This foundation. Is. My life. I have already repurchased it as it is my daily foundation. It is so natural and amazing. It matches me quite well except just a warning; for those with quite pale skin, you might not be able to find a match for you. In mac makeup I am an NC35 (sometimes 30 sometimes 40 depending on how tanned I am) and I find this a teeeeeeeny tiiiiiiiny bit too dark. There is a Fit me in 115 which I will try next but it is pretty much the same colour. It is however, amazing.

BYS Concealer Stick
This concealer does't have an exact name but it is a stick foundation with a sponge on the top. I loved this! It was my perfect colour and it covered everything I wanted it to. I repurchased it and accidentally bought a shade too dark so I can't wear it. Also I think they have changed the formula or something because when I did wear the new one, it made my skin look oily on the spot I had used it. I will buy it again in my right colour and see how it goes. And for $3.95 I can afford to!

The Falsies Mascara
Aaaaah the falsies! This used to be my favourite mascara in the whole world. This one is the original and has been much loved (as you can see by the worn packaging). I do love this mascara but I have since found other ones I like more. So for now, sorry falsies, I won't be buying you again.

Prestige Jet Stream gloss
I had 2 of these lip glosses and can not for the life of me remember where I bought them. I did like them, but because I have no idea where I got them, I probably won't get another one, I am not to fussed though.

Okay this lipgloss.....I think I can safety say was my favourite gloss, of all time. It was so creamy and he colour was perfect! I also have it in a deep berry colour, but this colour was perfect! I loved it so much and as you can see I scraped almost every last bit out of it. This lipgloss does however retail at around $40 so I am not sure about repurchasing it. I do love it, so maybe I will treat myself ;)

This gloss again I really liked. I got it as a gift and all I can say about it is that the brand is No7. And because you can't get No7 products in Australia I don't think I will bother ordering it from online.

Stay Perfect Nail Colour in 110 Milan
OH. MY. GOD. This nail polish! I don't know what it is, but it is AH-MAZING. The colour, the glitter, the consistency, the fact that it dries in about 10 seconds... This polish has been empty for many months as I just I went through it so quickly (wearing it every day) and I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away. Like the lipgloss above the brand is No7 so I can't buy it here in Australia. But luckily!! My mum is in England at the moment so I gave her the name and colour and am hoping she gets it for me! If not, I am sure I will order it online.

Random!

Dettol Healthy Touch Hand Sanitizer...The Pink One Of Course!
The first is very random...as all it is is hand sanitizer. It is a convenient size to carry around and the liquid itself is (was) pink! Of course I will buy this again.

Revlon Mini Perfume in Pink Happiness
The last product is a mini perfume. I did quite like the scent although I am sure I was drawn to it by the $5 sign :P It is a roller-ball perfume so it is great to throw in your purse for sweet touchups on the go! I will probably repurchase this.

So that is all my current empty products! I can now freely throw them away knowing I have done this. I hope this post was helpful in showing you how I got along with various products and maybe give you some ideas/inspiration!

Beautiful Blogger Award!

Hey everyone :)
This is the Beautiful Blogger Award, and I was so happy to receive it (especially as I am very new to the blogging community!) I hope you enjoy reading what I have to say and see if you get nominated at the end!

Rules:
Thank the person that nominated you and link to their blog:
Thank you so so much Jordy for nominating me! She has been so supportive with my new blog and helping me out, check out her blog here: http://jordysbeautyspot.blogspot.com.au

Tell us how the idea of making a blog popped up and what makes you continue it?
I had been watching many Youtube beauty gurus for a very long time and always wanted to share my love of beauty, fashion and makeup with others! I knew there was a large 'community' of people who shared there interests by creating a blog so I decided to dig deeper. I found there was many people interested in the same thing as me (all things girly!) So I decided to give it a shot. I have only had my blog for about a week and am loving it! Just finding things to make posts about really keeps me going :)

Describe a usual day in your life.
I am still at school so Monday-Friday is spent at school. Most mornings I have to get up early to go to music ensembles and I stay late many afternoons for more music. I play the violin, ukulele and I sing so everyday I also have to practise. On the weekends I usually spend my time sleeping, catching up on work or with friends. I love spending time with my friends especially my best friends Leah and Paloma (in the next but one picture)

The best collaboration with a blogger.
As I said I haven't been blogging for a long time so I haven't had a chance to really get to know people, but I would have to say Jordy, the one who nominated me for this award. She has been so kind and helpful and I honestly have to thank her so much. (Thanks Jordy!) Also   Mel from Misstango2 (her blog is http://www.misstango2.blogspot.com.au/) has been very supportive and great. (Thanks Mel!)

The worst collaboration with a blogger.
I have never experienced and bad collaborations with anyone so far and I honestly don't think I will! Everyone in the blogging community is so lovely and I hope it stays that way :)

Describe what having a blog means to you.
Having a blog to me means that I can share what I love with people and meet new people! It's great to be able to share you opinion and get other peoples opinions and advice on the things you love. I am really enjoying my blog so far and am sure I will continue it for a long time.

Nominate five other bloggers:
As I am very new to the blogging world, I haven't had a chance to explore many blogs. I do however nominate Mel from Misstango2, Rachel from Justsugarandspice and Samantha from Sammys Space :)
