How I Clean My Makeup Brushes!

Hey dolls!

So today I thought it was time to clean my brushes, as they were getting real dirty! I try to clean them every 2 or so weeks and I decided this time, to do a post on it! Enjoy :)

Step 1

 You are going to want to find something to clean your brushes with. A gentle body wash is good. I have used QV wash but something like Johnson's baby shampoo is good too. Just anything GENTLE.

Step 2

Squirt a bit of your 'soap' onto your hand and then dip the brush you want to clean into some warm water. Make sure you only get the bristles wet.

Step 3

Swirl the wet brush around in the 'soap' on your hand. Squeeze out the 'soap' and repeat until all the makeup is out of the brush.

(Once you have done this your area should look something like this!)

Step 4

Repeat this process on all your brushes. The process stays the same for all kinds of brushes. (Powder brushes, foundation brushes, eyeshadow brushes, eye liner brushes etc..)

Step 5

Rinse all your brushes individually under warm water until all soap and excess water is gone.

Step 6

With a paper towel, tissue etc, gently squeeze any moisture out of the brush. Repeat on all brushes.

Step 7

Once that is done, you will want to shape your brushes back to their original shape. Do this by moving the bristles around and moulding them to their right place.

Step 8

Set all your freshly clean brushes on a towel to dry overnight and Voilà!

I hope this post was helpful and gives you some tips on how to clean your brushes. It is important that you keep all your makeup brushes clean as dirt and bacteria can live in the bristles and applying that to your face can be dirty and cause breakouts.

Mascara Mania!

Heeeey Lovelies :)

I am so sorry about my lack of posts, my internet died for a few days and I only just got it back! 

So I am going to show you all the massacres, what I think of them etc, enjoy!

17 Wild Curls Mascarra

First off, yes this mascara is brown, but it honestly comes off black on the lashes. I love it though! I have worn it everyday since I got it (which was about a month ago). It claims to hold a curl for 10 hours, I have never had my mascara on for that long but it holds my curl for as long as I need it!

Essence Multi-Action Mascara

I was initially drawn towards this mascara because of the price....$3.95! And it is absolutely great for the price, it gives me length and volume, I love it!

Maybelline The Falsies- Waterproof

I first bought this mascara a long time ago but in the non-waterproof version. I really really liked it and so when it came into Summer I bought the waterproof version. Since buying it I have used up my non-waterproof version and unfortunately not had a huge opportunity to wear this one. It is very good though and I use it whenever I go swimming etc.

Maybelline One-by-One

This mascara defiantly doesn't get the recognition it deserves, it is really really good and I use it a lot. It lengthens, separates and volumizes my lashes very well. Great mascara right here!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes

This mascara deserves to be thrown out....not because it is bad, because I have used it up completely! I really did like this mascara. It was reasonably priced and gave my lashes a lot of volume, very good mascara.

Mac Mascara from the "To The Beach" Collection

This mascara was limited edition, but don't worry you aren't missing out on much. This mascara was/is very average. I feel it slightly lengthens my lashes but that's about it. The texture is quite strange also; it is a weird gel formula...ugh.

Benefit BADgal Mascara -Plum

I honestly really do not know how I came to own this mascara, it is purple! And for that reason, I have never used it. 

L'Oreal 4D Mascara

Yeh....this is very, VERY old. The writing and everything has been scratched off and it is all dried up. This was a good mascara in its day and I now just use it to occasionally comb through my lashes or for my bottom lashes.

Rimmel Extra Super Lash

The wand for this mascara is very simple, but it is great at lengthening! Like wow! It doesn't do a lot else but seeing I layer my mascaras I do like this one to lengthen and slightly separate my lashes.

 I hope you all enjoyed this post on all my mascaras! I used to have a lot more but I threw them out. I am sorry about the long gap between posts, but once exams are over (in one week yay!) then I will be back to regular posts. Bye for now :)

(I also realised I completely forgot about my Maybelline Colossal mascara! I don't know how! I do already have a review on it if you click here so yeeeh! I love it :))

August 2012 Favourites!

Hey dolls :)

So I know I go through phases, sometimes I do so many posts, and sometimes I don't do any, but I couldn't exactly wait for this one! Here are my August favourites :)

Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lipgloss: Wonder Melon

I bought this lipgloss at Sydney Airport for $11. At first I thought that was a huge rip-off but never the less, I love it. It is quite close to my natural lip colour but just gives my lips a lovely shimmery look. It also smells and tastes so so good!

Mirenesse Lipgloss

This lipgloss I have had for a while but haven't used it much. I started using it in the month of August and fell in love with it! It is really pigmented, and I feel anyone could pull this colour off. 

Mac Eyeshadow: Ricepaper

I have wanted this eyeshadow for a while now and when I saw it at Target for $11 I knew I had to get it. It is just a bit lighter than my skin tone and has a slight shimmer to it. It is great for school. 

Miss Dior Perfume

 I got this perfume for my birthday from my boyfriend and honestly have worn it everyday since. It smells so, so good! It isn't overly fruity or floral, it is just a perfect scent for me. I urge you all to go and have a sniff when you have the opportunity to!

17 Wild Curls Mascara

First off, yes this mascara is brown. And I would usually never ever go for a brown mascara. But when my mum bought it home for me from England I gave it a go. It honestly doesn't come out brown on the lashes, (it looks black to me!) And it curls, separates, volumizes, lengthens....the whole lot! I love this mascara so much and have worn it almost everyday. 

Essence Silky Touch Blush: 10 Adorable

So the main reason I love this blush is because...it retails for $3.95! And it is so good! I am not a huge blush fan, but when I saw this blush in the shops I had to try it out. It is great on my skin tone and is very wearable. It gives me a nice highlight of pink and is great for the price!

Victoria's Secret Makeup Bag

So this favourite is kind of random, but I felt I have to give it a mention seeing I take it literally everywhere. I also got this at Sydney Airport and it cost me $23. It fits not too much but not too little and is perfect to fit in my school or hand bag!

Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner

So recently I wear liquid eyeliner everyday that I wear makeup. I feel it just adds so much to my eyes. And to be completely honest...I suck at putting it on. It goes everywhere and the line is never straight. UNTIL! I came across this! It makes putting liquid eyeliner on so simple and lasts all day and night and AGH! I just love it. You need it in your life.

Mac Kohl Eyeliner: Powersurge

I HAVE WANTED THIS FOR SO LONG!  For my birthday, my good friend Grace gave me a $60 Mac voucher...so this was the first thing I bought. It lasts so long and it the most gorgeous colour. It is great to wear to school as it is not as dramatic as black liner.

Chanel Nail Colour: 531 Peridot

I have never in all my 16 years of existence seen a colour as unique or gorgeous as this. It is honestly indescribable. It changes from blue to green to gold and is honestly gorgeous. I have worn it so much and the quality is great. Hola new favourite nail polish!

Ecoya Candle: Pink Poppy and Peony

I got this candle from my grandma for my birthday and have had it burning everyday. It is so fresh and lovely and really brightens up my room :)
